Hi guys,

 

When running Active sky 2012 on a Asus Intel I3 S200e Notebook running windows 8 I get a system-thread-exception-handled-error-windows mrxsmb.sys error and it shows a BSOD.

 

Wishing to run a networked solution which did work until windows was reinstalled.

 

I appear to have all the updated drivers for graphics etc.

 

Any ideas.

Mrxsmb.sys is a Windows 8 system file associated with Windows 8 Consumer Preview ISO images developed by Microsoft for the Windows. If you have Windows 8.1 Preview installed (you shouldn't), you need to remove this program - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/update-from-preview. Look in Add/Remove programs for any indications. You may have to reinstall Windows 8.1 just to get rid of it. There are other suggestions at the link I provided.

 

I would run a registry cleaner such as CCleaner too. Something might have been left in the registry which is causing this problem.

 

BSOD's are caused by a bad driver(s) and/or defective hardware.
