VC hotspot not working

Featured Replies

So I had to get a new PC, old one just wasnt working anymore.   Re-install FSX into this new rig, got the chance to fly the NGX again after a while, got the Emergency upgrade and was going to try that out.  I get into the 737-800 and the VC hotspot to pull up the FS2Crew control panel was not working.   I was still able to pull up the panel from the drop down menus so it is not a 'show-stopper' but I just wonder what could have gone wrong here.   I use TrackIR/EzDok I dunno if that would do something, I found that EzDok sometimes caused the camera to go 'behind' the captains head rest and made it impossible to interact with the VC, but this is not what this is.  It is just like, the hotspot isnt there.

Is this a known bug?  or should I just try to re-install and hope that sorts it?

Cheers!

Hi Scott,

You probably ran the NGX performance tool.

It wipes the FS2Crew entry in the VC section of the panel.cfg file.

Your best solution is to simply create a key assignment to open/close the main panel.

Look at the bottom of this section:

Ah excellent, this will do nicely.  I was thinking about if it would be possible to toggle it via a keypress, I will give this a try the next time I fly the.  Thanks!

I had the same problem, I went back to the FS2Crew config manager and disabled than enable the voice program and it works again now. for me anyway.

  • 1 month later...

Good morning, I have the same problem with the hot spot in the VC not in the 2-D panel, there it works fine. I

ran the configurator and have clicked the "enable visual control".

When I open the panel.cfg in the pmdg 737-800wl edition, what should I see if FS2crew has loaded correctly into the file?? The manual only writes where to look not what I'll should find.

How can I correct the failure?

Thank You for answering my question.

That's because you probably ran the PMDG Performance manager (or whatever it's called), and it deletes the spot in the panel.cfg that allows this functionality.

Easiest way is to use this method... forget clickspots:

You can also assign a Keyboard or Joystick button to open and close the Main Panel.

  • To create your "Toggle Main Panel" assignment, create a joystick or keyboard button assignment for 'AUTOFEATHER (ARM/OFF)' in the FSX 'SETTINGS - CONTROLS' menu
  • You can select any Joystick or Keyboard assignment (or both).

IMPORTANT:  Your PMDG 737 NGX cannot use the same key assignment for any PMDG 737 NGX Key Command function, or the Main Button will not work!

So, for example, if you use "C" as your keyboard assignment for the Main Button, you cannot use "C" for any PMDG 737 NGX KEY ASSIGNMENTS.
