May 2, 200521 yr I'm not sure what's happening, but as of late, every time I takeoff in FS9 my aircraft - and it happens with every plane, third party or default - veers to the left, pitches up severly then yaws dramatically right and stalls, right wing first, spinning to the ground! I've checked the control surfaces in spot plane, and interestingly, before the takeoff roll, they appear trimmed for this kind of scenario. Once I kick the rudder pedals and move the ailerons and elevator, they snap back into the neutral position. It seems like all of a sudden, half way down the runway, the plane trims itself up elevator, right rudder, and right aileron. The strange thing is that, after I reset the flight from the ensuing crash, all aircraft takeoff without any problems what-so-ever! engaging autopilot does not really help. In spot plane view, during the stall spin, the control surfaces look neutral.I'm baffled, and this has sverely curtailed my multiplayer flying as I don't feel like trying to explain to ATC why I have to crash first then reset for departure!Running FS9 smoothly in Win98SE (not for very much longer) with GoFlight avionics hardware, and CH Products FlightSim Yoke and rudder pedals, all USB. Also running PFC throttle quadrant. Could this be something I did in FSUIPC?Please Help, and Thanks!http://www.alaska.faa.gov/fai/Clipart/SmlAcft.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
May 2, 200521 yr Moderator Alex, this may sound stupid but try trimming all controls back to neutral (both rudder and aileron) and save the flight, then quit and reload to see if your trim is the problem. Other than that, as long as you don't have a default autopilot enabled I can't see why it's happening exept for a calibration problem. If you have the latest CH drivers and all is calibrated well, maybe deleting fsuipc.ini (only the *.ini - back up first ;-) ). I don't have any GoFlight stuff yet so unfortunatly I can't comment on that possibly contributing to the problem.Hope this helps,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.71.89), CH Yoke/Pedals I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
May 2, 200521 yr I would perform a simple diagnostic test to isolate the problem either to the control device or else. I would unplug all controllers and perform the takeoff using the keyboard only. This way you will isolate what type of problem it is.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg Michael J.
May 2, 200521 yr Thanks guys, I'll try your suggestions and report back on how it goes.http://www.alaska.faa.gov/fai/Clipart/SmlAcft.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.

Other than that, as long as you don't have a default autopilot enabled I can't see why it's happening exept for a calibration problem.........Mine always starts up with the rudder to the right...I even triedsaving a new flight with the rudder centered...Still starts off fresh, to the right...Once you center, after starting fs9, it doesn't do it any more...Not sure why it does that....But anyway, I agree, I would try centering the rudder/elevator trims, and see what that does...Normally, I would agree with the saving part, but that didn't work for me...I have to center my rudder, *every* time I first fly the sim.Also...Many times, I have to be actually moving, before I center it...I've centered it sitting still, and still had it vear to the right later. But if I center it moving, it's ok, and never does it againuntil the next time I fire the sim...Yep...Tried recal on the stick...Was ok, and didn't help...MK Mark Keith
May 2, 200521 yr Check the key assignments for the yoke - by default, one of thelevers is assigned to rudder. If the assignements have become corrupted, you may have a `fight` over which device is actually controlling rudder.Allcott
May 3, 200521 yr Well, I fixed the problem. There is a Precision Flight Control Throttle module applet that allows you to tweak performance in FS9. Apparently, I checked the aileron, elevator, and rudder trim adjustment tabs, though unfortunately, they are not modifiable unless you have a PFC yoke. I'm using a CH Products yoke. The picture below shows the default positions of the trim tabs: exactly the behavior I was having after about 80-90 knots, when the control surfaces becaome active. Thanks for your suggestions everyone!http://www.alaska.faa.gov/fai/Clipart/SmlAcft.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MDhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/115079.jpg PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
May 3, 200521 yr HERES SOMETHING THAT WORKED FOR ME....HAVE YOU TRIED CHANGING ALL THE FS9 SETTINGS BACK TO DEFAULT AND RESTARTING THE SIM.WHEN I FIRST INSTALLED FS9 ON MY SYSTEM, MY JOYSTICK STARTED DOING THE SAME THING BUT NOT ALL THE TIME, ABOUT 80%. IT WAS ANNOYING WHEN IT DID, TAKING TIME TO SET A FLIGHT AND IT ALL GOES #### UP WHEN YOU START THE T/O. HERES WHAT I DID...........I UNINSTALLED MY JOYSTICK SOFTWARE, DELETED ALL REGISTRY REFERENCES AND RESTARTED WINDOWS. (THIS PART IS OPTIONAL) RUN THE DEFRAGMENTOR, DISKCLEAN UP/JUNK FILE REMOVER/ADWARE REMOVER/ANTI-virus AS DISFUNCTIONAL FILES AND FOLDERS CAN REALLY DISRUPT AN INSTALLATION. WHEN I DID THIS IT TOOK A LOT AND I MEAN A LOT OF JUNK/ADWARE FILES OFF MY P.C AND MADE IT RUN VERY SMOOTHLY.THEN I REINSTALLED THE JOYSTICK SOFTWARE AND RESTARTED WINDOWS AGAIN.WHEN I STARTED FS THE ONE THING I NOTICED WAS THAT THE JOYSTICK WAS NOT ENABLED, AS SOON AS I DID ENABLE IT I STARTED A DEFAULT FLIGHT CHANGING NO SETTINGS AT ALL. I STARTED MY T/O AND NOTHING HAPPENED. IT RESPONDED WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL SO I CHANGED ALL MY SETTINGS BACK AND TO THIS DAY IT HAS BEEN THE SAME.HOPE THIS HELPS, IF NOT, I WOULD ADVISE GETTING A NEW OPERATION PROGRAM LIKE WIN XP. OF COURSE YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW THIS LOL.CHEERS
