May 5, 200521 yr Hello all I have been lurking here for awhile a finally decided to post. I have been flightsimming sinch FS95 (owned each one of them). I have logged many hours in FS2004 (even though my computer can barely handle it). Glad to be on-weatherguy--Wim98SE | Intel Celeron 700 mhz | 4.0 MB 810 chipset integrated | 380 MB PC100 SDRAM | SB Live LS 5.1 Card | Creative SBS 560 5.1
May 5, 200521 yr Welcome to AVSIM!Wow, look at those specs, you will be amazed at FS when you do upgrade! LOLRegards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
May 5, 200521 yr Yup. I play FS 2004 for three things: Traffic, Scenery, and Flying smoothly in the VC mode. Unfortunately, my comp only lets me do one of those things at a time:( So if i want scenery, i have to do away with the traffic and the vc, if I want traffic everything's gotta go (and I mean everything), and if I want to fly smoothly in the VC mode then secenery and traffic and weather all get busted down.I am in the process of upgrading though, I've already bought the processor:P4 3.0E Ghz HT 800 Mhz FSB, 1024 MB of PC3200 DDR-400 Memory, GeForce 6800 ultra 256mb. Along w/ a mobo that can support 4 GB of ram and basically all of the processors (forget the name though).
May 5, 200521 yr Yep, same for me Traffic, scenary, VC flying and real weather (which is a killer!) What is your aircraft preference?nice new rig, you are going to be in heaven!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
May 5, 200521 yr Well, The Cessna 172/182S perform the smoothest, but I like flying the Beechcraft Kingair.
May 5, 200521 yr Nice, once you get your rig updated, you might want to check out the B200 if you haven't already, sweet VC!!http://www.aeroworx.com/index.htmlRegards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
May 5, 200521 yr weatherguyMuch safer lurking ;-)You will have opened a bag of worms by posting. You will now be faced with hours of writing replies, getting involved in polite :-)arguement, misunderstandings and a whole host of other things.Through curiousity, what is the weatherguy connection?Looks like you need to invest in a new puter ;-)Peter
May 5, 200521 yr Welcome, Weatherguy. Nce to see someone else on here who's spec sucks more than mine :( (Duron 1.2GHz, 512Mb PC2100, Radeon 9600 Pro).Sorry to hear you'll soon be upgrading and leaving me in your dust, crying like a baby who's lost his rattle ;(
May 5, 200521 yr Welcome, Weatherguy. Good to have you with us in Avsim.I'm a weatherman myself ;-); in fact, when I first joined Avsim many years ago, my username was FlyinRain, and I used to do just that, in FU3 and MSFS!All the best.
May 5, 200521 yr Thanks for the replys. I've been using the weatherguy48 alias for about 9 years, because I'm fascinated with weather. I sometimes chase tornadoes (I live in kansas).
May 6, 200521 yr Well, from one relative newcomer to another, welcome! And since I live in Missouri, I can appreciate the tornado thing. Maybe not take part in "chasing" (more like "fleeing"), but they are fascinating. You're gonna love FS9 on your new system!
May 6, 200521 yr but mr weatherman, these days you can pick up a 'decent' computer for less than $300 american dollars, so why you still have that antique computer? I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
