Cyberpower pc for P3D

Recommended Posts

Been running P3d on a 2.93 gigahertz Intel Core i7 870 an AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series with Orbx scenery. Am ready to upgrade to something that will knock my socks off. I could build but I work for the purple and orange delivery company and this is the busy time of year and when its over I want to sit back and enjoy flying smooth and crisp in Orbx land. So Bert and other simmers please let me know if this will do the job. Thanks for you help.

Will order tomorrow.

Any reason you've gone 5820K/X99 rather than 4790K/Z97?

Thanks Charlatan. Am trying to keep the price below 2000$. Maybe you could go to cyberpc and let me see what you would pick.

I would change the Kingston ssd's for either Crucial M500/550's or a pair of Samsung 840 EVO's for just a few dollars more.

My reasoning being, those Kingston's are very slow and quite often do not reach their reported read/write speeds. And you may want to consider a WD Black 1 or 2 TB HDD for your other installed softwares.

I think I will go with the setup in this thread "opinions-on-this-cpu-build". I will get 2 Samsung ssd and a 2 tb drive. Thanks again guys!

Not bad system the 5820k performs well in FSX P3D , wy not 4 X 4gb mems quad channel.

to get it to run like a 4790k you need to OC and have 3000mhz cl15 ddr4.

I run my 5820k @4.75ghz and mems 3000mhz cl 14 uncore 4490mhz thats its like a 4790k @4.8ghz 2666mhz cl11 uncore 4400mhz

The texture load times is faster with the X99 system, first tests i was a little confused the x99 is tricky to tune but after get all settings to work i not look back to the 4790k system.

On cyberpower just pick a different configuration for the 4790K chip set bundle if you want that.
