IS UTX is causing these static wave overlays

Featured Replies

Hey everyone tried posting in fsx general did not get any responses

thought i would try here

as i am running in DX10

i have a question regarding some scenery

when i look at the water it seems as though there is a layer over the top of the animates waves that is static

these don't move

the only scenery i'm running here

is FTX global

and UTX

could these be caused by UTX

do i need to move the assignment in the scenery ????

have a look at the pic

waveoverlays_zpsa58542a8.jpg

as you can see the arrows point to the non moving ones and under those are the nice animates waves

any insight would be great

Thank you

Hey Steve thanks for the reply

in just using the stock water texture, when i first installed Rex i backed up the textures and diabled water and wave animations.  ive tried disabling all the UTX and FTX scenery and they still persist.... the water below them looks great and is the simulators stock water. i know cause i see the same water in other areas. however the static waver overlays look horrible

any other ideas

and thanks again

JHo and Steve,

In the attached screenshot above, those are indeed stock textures.

Those static 'lines' are contained within the default water textures, yes. REX has more realistic burned in wave patterns.

Tim

so if i instal rex water will it get rid of these default horrible static waves

i guess i could try it and revert back to the defaults

also when i first installed REX i backed up the clean vanilla textures, so as long as i dont overwrite them will i be able to revert back?. or should i be backing up other texture folders manually

thanks for the answers
