Blurry ground textures problem

Recommended Posts

Your zoom level in that screenshot is 1.50. That's not something you'd use when flying.

Take one that's like the shots in your first post, with zoom 0.50 (I think that's what you used).

Here with 0,50 zoom

And here you can see what happens in a radius of about 500mt from my position (5000ft altitude)

There is nothing wrong in the first image. That looks perfectly normal. The anisotropy setting fixed that.

The other image on the other hand is SO zoomed in that I suspect it's just normal. What you're seeing is the transistion from one mipmap to another, although it DOES looks pretty harsh.

I think you're fine now as long as you're using "normal" zoom levels.

Good. Have you checked your installation for textures with alpha errors?

Download dxtFixerX (the link is in my signature).

It will further help to smoothen your simulator.

Sorry, but this is not "the same problem as most people" I would think.

Does your system have a dedicated video card, or are you flying with integrated Intel video?

Totally blurry textures are often caused by changing views (this is normal), or your PC not being able to keep up with the changing scenery you are flying over...

If you hit the Pause (P) key, do the textures recover?

Bert Pieke yes I have tried that before and still nothing seems to work and the only way to get the blurry texture to go back to normal is if i go the FSX scenery library and i hit the "OK" button and the textures will go back to normal after that. I don't want to have to keep going into the scenery library and just hit the "OK" button just reload blurry textures.

Hitting the OK button in the Scenery Library??  That should only have to happen once to permanently

lock the scenery in place.  Do you know about clicking in the white area after clicking the OK button?

OK, so....what's all the marked out scenery addons that you are trying to hide?  Those may give

a clue as to what's going on.

Maybe, if it's anything default that's causing the issue, you may want to verify the game cache.

To verify you game files please do the following:

1. Load the Steam platform and log into your account
2. Click the Library tab in the menu at the top of the screen
3. Click the List View from the view options on the top right of the screen
4. Right click on Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition to bring up a popup menu
5. Click on Properties from the popup menu to bring up another popup box
6. Click on Local files from the popup box menu
7. Click on Verify integrity of game cache from the Local file options
8. Wait for the progress bar to finish verifying your files. Additional files may download
9. Restart Steam
10. Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition

The only other thing that may be a concern about your blurry scenery is what you are trying

to hide in your Scenery Library!  Got something in there you don't wants us to know about?
