Freeware GA aircraft

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is there any GA Freeware out there that in your opinion,  rivals payware. i.e. excellent VC? There is so much out there, so I thought I would ask.

Regards

There is certainly good freeware, but nothing that rivals good payware in terms of visual quality.

My favorite freeware aircraft is the C172 by Alan Fletcher. It is based on the default C172, but the flight behavior, the systems and the panel have been changed very much.

It has only a 2D panel, but this is really well done. The aircraft also has some very nice features, such as working breakers, the ability to hide gauges between plates (for learning purposes), the ability to change weather settings directly from the cockpit and much more.

You can have a look for yourself:

Another aircraft I like is the Robin DR400 from xpfr.org: Just make sure to change the GNS to the new one in PlaneMaker:

The Eclipse 550 is decent - plasticky sort of VC but it's very good overall.

I bought his Lancair FG - decent at the 20 dollar pricepoint
