I7 Turbo Boost Question

Featured Replies

I have an I7 4790K, how do I know if the turbo boost is on or off?  Are there any settings I need to change this, adjust it?  Thanks for any help.

What motherboard u got ?

Go to the BIOS and ( with my ASUS Z-97 Maximus) there is a tab that says 'EZ Tuning' and it scans your computer specs and takes care of overclocking and volts by itself. If you want it to go to stock speeds and such, go to the BIOS, and look for an option to reset specs, or return to defaults. Its usually in an Exit tab where you have to option to save tweaks and such.

You'll see a Tubo Boost option in your BIOS and is normally on by default. I'm not sure how well this works with FSX though.

Turbo Boost only really kicks in if a certain percentage / core usage is reached on the CPU.

It's automated and cannot be controlled apart from on/off.

Your best bet is to overclock manually.
