February 20, 201511 yr Commercial Member I've been giving a good looksy after my 2.5 install and just noticed that custom library objects, like those seen in cities, ball parks, etc are not producing any shadows but autogen is. Dang if I can't remember...is that how its always been? Have everything possible "checked" to produce shadows. Check out a built up default city. Just checked New York City, Empire State Building - no, Pan-AM building- no, but the Statue of Liberty -yes(?). Downtown San Diego - no, downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico - no. What are you guys seeing? February 20, 201511 yr This is a known problem with v2.5, LM is working on a Hotfix. Philip Manhart :American Flag: - "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." ~ Plato
February 20, 201511 yr What is it with LM and shadows? They were broken in 2.3 and 2.4 (different bugs) and now they're broken again in 2.5? Maybe they should just abandon the concept of shadows, since it appears to be too complex for the team to handle. At least this time they're already aware of if - The community doesn't have to convince LM and its beta testers that there is a bug by pointing it out over and over again. Glad I didn't install 2.5 just yet. I figured something would be broken in the initial version as usual. -
February 20, 201511 yr Author Commercial Member Thx for the reply Phillip. Yea, it's one of those things ya start thinking to yourself "was that like that before"? Nice to see they are aware of it. Seems like a little patch is in order hopefully. Also discovered their Addon Scenery window no longer refreshes when you activate or deactivate scenery. Find it so interesting that something that blatant was not noticed in their several rounds of beta testing. So long as they add it back as it is a pain to quickly test items having to restart P3D each time. All-in-all very pleased with how P3D is looking and performing. Proud member since v1.4.
