June 6, 200521 yr Hello, I just purchased 2 of flight one's planes.. I also have the ATR-72-500.. This is what lead me to purchasing 2 more from flight one..One thing I have noticed is the ATR on my Forcefeedback 2 joystick has some forces behind the stick and feels excellent kinda like a heavy..I have noticed the Conquest 2, and the PC-12 my stick don't even know thier there and the slightest movement and shoot I might as well be flying a f-16..Also I can work the ailerons real hard rock them from left to right and i do not get any conteracting g force from the stick..I do know these 2 planes are alot lighter than the ATR...But is there something I could do to my config so it would feel like there is a plane there?I my sidewinder settings I have all the forces set the hardest they can get... I am wondering if their is a trick in the FSUIPC or something in FS9 config settings. My FSUIPC is registered..Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I especially like that PC-12 but like i said on the stick it is a little dissapointing hardly no she is there at all as a matter of fact really the only forces I get from it are when it is taxing the little bumps on the taxi way... Thanks Again Fellow Simmers,
June 6, 200521 yr Josh, the ATR is a Dreamfleet aircraft, it only uses the Flight1 wrapper. You might have better luck here http://www.simforums.com/Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
June 6, 200521 yr Actually the ATR is a Flight One aircraft, thought Dreamfleet did help in a few areas. Your best bet for support is http://atr.flight1.net http://strong.eastlink.ca/vton1.jpg

June 6, 200521 yr Hi Josh,In aircraft.cfg, look forelevator_area= and aileron_area=in the [Airplane_geometry] sectionIncreasing these areas will increase the forces. These areas do not effect flight characterisics. However, make a backup of the originals just in case and please don't hold me responsible if things go wrong. You can alter the forces in the air file also, but the aircraft.cfg file is easier to work with, especially if you are not familiar with this type of thing.nick
June 6, 200521 yr Will check that out...Hey I appreciate your input and help Nick... So those cfg files will only effect the forces on the stick? That is interesting... Once again Thanks for the help..
June 6, 200521 yr Hi again Josh, just had a thought, if the forces are set to zero in the air file, then altering the values in the aircraft.cfg will not do anything. The forces are determined by force in the air file x control surface area. However, I doubt that the air file forces are zero, they usually have some value. If zero, you need to change the values in section 320 of the air file, elevator and aileron forces.nick
June 7, 200521 yr Rgr... Thanks Nick I am heading that way now... Maybe I better close my eyes grin Thanks Again,
June 7, 200521 yr UGH... Man I opened the Airfile with notepad... Got scared and ran (LOL)...Bunch of coding in there (MAMA)
June 7, 200521 yr "Actually the ATR is a Flight One aircraft, thought DreamFleet did help in a few areas"Such as the complete aircraft model, including VC / cabin, etc. The 2D instrument panels and graphics, ALL gauges, the flight dynamics, and that huge manual. ;-) Otherwise, as stated above, it is an F1 product, and I heartily suggest visiting the appropriate F1 support forums for assistance with it or their other aircraft.I do not suggest playing with the aircraft.cfg for any of these aircraft, except in the simplest of areas, such as cockpit eye point. Otherwise support can become difficult if problems arise, because we do not know what you changed. Changes to the aircraft.cfg can affect many things, even things you might not think of.BTW, I never liked force feedback controls in FS- never found them that "realistic". Sorry!I use a PFC yoke, and that does very well for either a Cessna or a 747 depending upon how you have your null zone and sensitivities set (something else to think about changing). It can be very much a "one yoke fits all" piece of hardware. The FAA agrees also, as many of PFC's products are certified for flight training. Not cheap, but for the serious flight simmer, the best there is, and none are force feedback. ;-)http://www.flypfc.comRegards,http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...R_FORUM_LOU.jpg
June 7, 200520 yr Sorry Josh, I should have said that the air file cannot be edited in a text file editor, there are more special applications for this, but I thought you would give the aircraft.cfg a go. I mentioned the air file to complete the story. The aircraft.cfg can be edited with a text editor, but from what I read above, they have set things to zero.I might be treading on toes here, so I'll bow out, but what's up to you entirely, do some searching on air files. Did I mention to back-up original files. With some research you will find that mods to air files are not rocket science. Yes, if you change the wrong values, you can really mess things up. However, I new nothing about this once, but was determined to learn. If that's your thing, then good luck to you.nick
June 10, 200520 yr Ultimate solution - FS Force. Sets FF parameters completely independently of the sim. Either generi or aircraft (or even airraft version) specific. Also removes the fps `hit`. Do NOT mess with .air and .cfg files on DreamFleet and Flight 1 aircraft, the configuration manager means those changes will not be retained anytime you change anything.http://www.dirks-software.ca/fs-force/That should do itAllcott
