February 27, 201511 yr Hello All,I'm looking for more in-depth information on the internal FSX sound system to solve my challenge with it.What happened ?1. After first out-of-the-dvd-box FSX installation everything worked as it should be- Theme Music played during FSX start-up- I could hear Aircraft sounds during Free FlightAnd i was happy2 - I completely de installed FSX with its own de-installation program (via the Windows Control Panel)3 - I erased the C:\program files\microsoft games\fsx... folder structure from my hard-disk4 - I applied CCleaner, Power Tools Lite and Wise Registry cleaners (to clean op the garbage from the FSX de-installation)5 - I reinstalled FSX for the second time:--> I had to reactivate it again, which did not go well right away due to "internet connectivity problems".--> I had to do this multiple times, before it finally worked6 - I reinstalled FSX Acceleration Pack for the second time:--> I had to reactivate it again, which did not go well right away due to "internet connectivity problems".--> i had to do this multiple times, before it finally workedAnd since then, no-fsx-related-sound at all :-(==============================================================================What have I done so far? (see the link below to FSX settings slideshow)http://www.flickr.com/photos/indigowarrior9/sets/72157651052423702/==============================================================================A - Tested my RealTek onboard soundchip/card via its build-in software settings menu.-> Everything works great.B - Killed the Windows 7 Voice Call Volume reduction bug,-> by setting it to "do not take any action"C - Tested Soundplaying on the Windows Operating System level-> Went ok, all sounds played well.D - Tested Soundplaying of the Windows Application level-> Played mp3 with Winamp - Ok!-> Watched .flv and .mp4 video's with VLC - Ok!-> Watch online Youtube videos via FireFox - Ok!E - Surfed the internet to gather EVERY! sound related parameter inside FSX.CFG- Did not result in any FSX-sounds by tweaking the fsx.cfg fileF - Searched the FSX /ESP SDK documents- Came up empty on that issueG - Tested various sound-setting via the FSX-menus- Did not result in FSX producing any music_theme_sound or freeflight soundsH - During FreeFlight-mode, toggle the sound on/off function- Did not result in FSX producing any music_theme_sound or FreeFlight sounds (inside the cockpit and outside the aircraft)So I must come to the conclusion that FSX has (more) hidden / undocumented:- FSX.CFG parameter-value entries that control sound-creation- Registry Settings that control her sound-creation process==============================================================================My QUESTIONS FOR YOU:1 - Who has experienced similar WIN7, 64bit FSX sound challenges and how did you solve it?2 - Is there a location on-line / book/ tutorial /graphic where I can learn more about the internal FSX soundsystem?3 - Does FSX use Windows DirectX Layers for her sound creation or does it use its own, native sounds-driver?4 - Does anyone has another hint, tips, trick, clue on how I can get FSX to produce sounds again? Thanks in advance for sharing all your answers and insights!
