June 7, 200521 yr Ok I fly on VATSIM alot now and I want to interact with the proper flight plans especiall IFR etc..I was wondering what would be the best program to get my hands on.Especially for the Reality XP 530GPSI read something about one of these programs showing where you can get fuel at the airports on the map. It could have been a different program though..So veterans out there which would be the best for me to get FSBUILD or FSNAV...As far as importing the route to the GPS that would be nice.. But I can implement the route into the GPS.. Hey part of the job ehh..1 question is if I have the Reality XP 530 GPS do I have to input 1 at a time and once I get to that destination enter the other or input all of them at once and it takes over from there... Sorry so full of questions folks... It's just I have spent money on programs before when I woulda asked folks about it before I spent the hard earned money.. Thanks Again for all your help and experiencesP.S. I like VATSIM
June 7, 200521 yr Unfortunately there is no tool that will allow you to import flight plans into the 530. You have to key them in manually. My own opinion is that FSBuild is a better (more serious) flight planning tool than FSNav.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg Michael J.

June 7, 200521 yr Thanks Gents FSBUILD and Reality XP 530 GPS it is...Hey you all don't have an extra room for rent do you... Lady may kick me out after this..LOL I just purchased 2 planes about 2 days ago :-eek Thanks Gents,
June 7, 200521 yr Regarding FS Nav vs FS Build, I tried the demo version of FS Build and hated it. Then tried FS Nav, have used it on every flight since. I don't fly on Vatsim, but FSNav has had a great deal of Virtual Airline Flight Planning use and I wouldn't fly without it. Try the free demos, you will quickly see which you prefer.
June 7, 200521 yr I actually use both.....used together, you get the best of both.As was just said, they both have free demos. FSNav gives you FULL capability for 20 starts. FSBuild gives you enough in its freeware version to enable you to decide.Try them both.
June 7, 200521 yr Remember that the free version of FSBuild is in fact a very old version. While the core capabilities are the same the current production version is far more capable and userfriendly.I too tried FSNav, I hated it.And when I uninstalled it the uninstaller corrupted my FS installation so badly only a complete reinstallation of FS and all addons would bring FS back to life.
June 7, 200521 yr Author >I was wondering what would be the best program to get my hands>on.>With the 530 you can do some of the things that FNavigator allows, my favorites are: the possibility of zooming the map, put a cursor, measure distances bearings. Maybe it
