February 28, 201511 yr Most of my scenery has recently become corrupted, even the default scenery. I would like some advice on how to resolve this in the easiest way. I have a lot of addon scenery also. Any suggestions appreciated. Ron Ron Service .
February 28, 201511 yr Not sure what you mean by corrupted scenery. Missing scenery? Or is the scenery.cfg corrupted? If the latter, you should download and run SceneryConfigEditor and it will manage your Areas/Layers. You should also periodically delete the following as suggested in the AVSIM CTD Guide - Delete/Rebuild your Facilities/Scenery Indexes and Shader Folders – These are temporary folders and should be deleted periodically (they will be rebuilt): Facilities/Scenery Indexes are located in C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX\(hidden). For P3D, instead of Microsoft\FSX, look in LockHeed Martin\Prepar3D v2 for the indexes. Delete the Facilities and Scenery folders. They will be rebuilt. Delete the Shader folders located in C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local/Microsoft\ FSX\Shader10 and Shader folders (hidden). The Shader 10 folder is created when you enable DX10 Preview in FSX. The Shaders folder for DX9 will always be created. For P3D users, there is only a Shaders folder in C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\LockHeed Martin\Prepar3D v2 folder. When you restart FSX/P3D, these folders will be rebuilt. Deleting these temporary folders has also been known to fix some CTD’s. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! March 4, 201511 yr Author Thank you for your help Firehawk. I ended up having to use the repair function on both the FSX and Acceleration dvd's. Ron Ron Service .
