June 9, 200520 yr I am interested in how well it is run...Sim-Wings state a requirement of 2GHZ for processor power, and I have 1900 :( sooooo I would like to know if all that new design technology could result in the scenery being flyable on a PC with under 3000Ghz...Thanks a mill..Boaz..
June 9, 200520 yr Hi Boaz,I have a P4 2.4ghz, 768 RDRAM. It is very flyable. I have been getting 10-20 fps (locked at 23) with scenery set at very dense. I am very pleased with the results. You may struggle with this one, unless you turn down your scenery complexity to normal or lower; have at least 512mb, good 3D video card 128mb, and turn down AI traffic to 10-30%. Unfortunately, by having to turn down most of your sliders will defeat the neat things that in this scenery can provide with a faster processor and a lot of ram.Hope this helps,Regards,Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
June 9, 200520 yr Thanks... Then you wouldn't recommend it...?I have nuff ram as it is, and my 3D card is also very very good...Hmm...Boaz...
June 10, 200520 yr I would recommend you try the UK2000 Heathrow demo at http://www.uk2000scenery.com/main/index.htm. IMO this scenery is very good and should give you an idea how your computer will perform with CDG. If you are pleased with the results you should buy both of them. I am still checking UK2000 out and am very impressed. Still doing some tweaking with UK2000, it appears that at least on my system it is about 2fps slower than the CDG. I really appreciate those developers to allow you to try it before you buy it.Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
June 10, 200520 yr I've got the LFPG scenery along with the Paris Basepack and it is, in a word, freaking awesome! (okay two words). With 100% AI traffic and all the bells and whistles going on at the airport (airport ramp and access roads are full of cars, etc), I am getting 35 smooth fps and I extremely satisfied with this scenery. This is compared to Simflyer's KORD where I get 17fps under the same conditions. I see no difference in performance between the default LFPG and the sim wings version. I was actually stunned at how smooth it was.If you have simflyer's scenery then you should have no trouble with LFPG. Quite frankly, having scores of sceneries from FlyTampa, Simflyers, Imaginesim, Aerosoft, etc, I think that this is THE best scenery yet made for FS2004!HTH,Mike T.
June 10, 200520 yr "I think that this is THE best scenery yet made for FS2004"I think I will agree ..superb frame rates for the size and complexity of the airport! ...It will make me buy the Flight Paris scenery too.regardsEd http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/115553.jpgAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZS My FS Videos
June 11, 200520 yr Sounds great! That was what I wanted to hear :-)I heard that the scenery was created using new technology for improving FPS...Are you talking about Heathrow Pro V2? I have just installed V2 V1 was awful for my PC...Are you guys saying the LFPG scenery is as good or even better performing that Flytampa's KSFO??Boaz...
June 11, 200520 yr Hi Boaz, It is Heathrow Pro V2 (LHR) for FS2004 only. According to their web site they state "This new BETA version of heathrow Pro is ready for testing by anyone who wants to download.http://www.s114327879.websitehome.co.uk/egllpro_v2.zip This is supposed to be the newest version (beta) with the better frame rates. As I mentioned before the fps on my 2.4ghz is about 2 Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
June 12, 200520 yr Carl I am a bit confused, maybe you misunderstood me...V2 is oficially released on the appropriate website.KSFO runs great on my PC... So if LFPG is CLOSE TO KSFO then LFPG will run fine on my systemI asked not for how KSFO was as a scenery I wanted to compare LFPG to KSFO because I have that scenery...KMIA is not so good on my pc, but if you compare LFPG to KSFO then it will run fine...Can you confirm or decline any of this?Boaz...
June 12, 200520 yr Boaz..Sorry for the confusion,I get about the same results using KSFO or LFPG with same settings. I would assume you should get similar performance with LFPG as you are getting with KSFO.Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
