June 24, 200520 yr I am really going to stick my neck out here..........What you guys seem to fail to realize is...............It's not a perfect world. It's only 'Game' software.'C.S' have suffered legal problems and are trying to recover from that.Captain Sim and ALL the other software suppliers in our hobby should be encouraged and not slagged off at the slightest weakness shown.Without them, FlightSim would be reduced to a 'GAME' just like 'Doom' and all it's follow-ons.I am fed up with people that want everything yesterday.Do you really believe that 'C.S' enjoy reading your critical forum mail?I am sure that they would remedy the situation if they could as soon as possible. So, in the meantime, let's stop the criticism and with a bit (Well a lot of) hope that they recover and return to providing us with the standard that they once enjoyed giving us.Eternal whining dosen't do anything for this hobby it just makes good potential future suppliers think more than twice before they start providing software for such a critical market.I am sure that none of us, want that situation to arise?Dave T. .........On the lovely warm Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
June 24, 200520 yr "Captain Sim and ALL the other software suppliers in our hobby should be encouraged and not slagged off at the slightest weakness shown."You're right. The flaw in your logic is that you put Captain Sim in the same class as other software suppliers. If you look at posts about other companies you will see a lot of encouragement. Some get slagged but they rectify the problems with patches and we all go on--the slagging stops. That is one of the great things about these boards--it allows suppliers to get immediate feedback about their product and make changes accordingly. CS ignores the feedback and thus the slagging continues and in fact intensifies. "I am fed up with people that want everything yesterday."I don't need it yesterday, but within 12 mths of launch would be nice, or, alternatively, an acknowledgement that there is an issue and that a solution is on the way. "Eternal whining dosen't do anything for this hobby"No, it dosn't. But I don't hear anybody whining. I hear people that are upset because they have bought a product that dosn't work as advertised and the vendor has made no attempt to rectify the problem or even acknowledge it. I hear complaints, not whining. CS is in control of the situation. If they choose to ignore real issues--and autopilot problems in a long range airliner, to name one, is a serious issue--the complaints will continue. I can't speak for anyone else but one of my biggest disappointments with CS is watching them implode when they should be at the top of their game. The 707 is one patch away from being a classic. They could have put the resources into that instead of calenders and pre-emptive press releases and we'd all be happy and waiting with great anticipation for their next release. Instead I'm so mad, and I don't seem to be alone, that I'm willing to take time to express my anger. It's a shame that so much talent is tainted by an organization that smells and feels like doggie poo. billg
