June 22, 200520 yr Well you can download a calendar, and now search for acronyms, but what about product support? The 707 isn't flyable in the VC plus other bugs never addressed, and where is the Hercules?
June 22, 200520 yr Yeah, they sure have an active publicity department. Shame the customer support department seem on permanent holiday. Here's a new acronym:CSPSNECan you guess what it is yet?:)Allcott
June 22, 200520 yr Captain Sim Peeves Someone New Everyday?Be interesting to see what the reaction will be if they release something new, as in aircraft, before they've fixed the existing problems with their current aircraft and support forums. While I would probably get some enjoyment out of flying the Herc, no matter how buggy it'll likely be, I'm not going to stand for this. I refuse to buy it or any more of their products until the existing situation is rectified. Even then there is a pretty bad taste in my mouth and I'll probably just pass on it.billg
June 22, 200520 yr The B707 remains uninstalled until they come up with a final patch, fixing, among many other things:1. The terrible model error on the cargo enginefans.2. The terrible Autopilot logics.3. The terrible upper and enginer panel logics.4. To be continued........http://www.scandicair.com/images/Banner_ariane_4.jpg Staffan
June 22, 200520 yr I have to laugh because I saw the article on the front page and said "Wow, they're doing just about everything BUT releasing the Herc" Then, I came in to post that and saw your post's title. Made me laugh. I don't own the 707 so I guess you guys should be in line ahead of me.Dave---------------------------------------------------System Specs:Athlon64 3500+ ClawHammer @ 2.3mhzECS NForce4 A-939 Mobo (1g FSB)2 Gigs OCZ Performance PC3200 Ram (Dual Channel)ATI Radeon X800Pro PCI-E 256MB (Catalyst 5.6 @ 520/540)SoundBlaster Live 24bitSaitek Cyborg EvoWinXP SP1
June 22, 200520 yr Well Captain Sim is trying to do "unique" things. Having bad support is pretty unique compared to other well known developers.
June 23, 200520 yr I bought the legendary 727 shortly after it came out, and they were great looking aircraft. Not too long after that, I changed computers and found myself trying to jump through hoops with Captain Sim to try to reinstall it. You needed your original registration number and receipt number, which I had, but never could convince Captain Sim to send me a new key.Ultimately, I ended up using the aircraft with my own panels, sounds and flight dynamics from AI Aardvark. Still use them that way, works for me, but no more purchases from Captain Sim. Good luck,Bob
June 23, 200520 yr I enjoyed the heck out of the 727, even with the horrible flight dynamics in fs9. Purchased the 707 hoping it would be better and made for fs9 but it was completely rushed out the door, and no sign of fixes in sight. Then they closed their forums? I must admit I might purchase the herc because its harder to mess up that kind of airplane than a complicated jet but who knows what they're capable of.
June 23, 200520 yr I think that I am not alone thinking, that I will not give Captain Sim even one cent more, before they patch/finish the earlier releases. Also that they start to care about their present customers.http://www.scandicair.com/images/Banner_ariane_4.jpg Staffan
June 23, 200520 yr I am dying for a good herc model though as alphasims is quite disappointing. If they do a V2 (maybe the same quality or higher as the Galaxy which just came out and looks fantastic) then I won't care about captain sims herc anymore!
June 23, 200520 yr I too would like to offer, that the new publicity features of the CS website avoid having a forum, which would enable us to discuss the various issues regarding the CS aircraft. But maybe those issues are bad publicity. As for the 707...It is a hand flyer. Can't use the AP much in it.The systems are not really modelled well, not much logic in it.But the external model is top notch, lotsa liveries.I sometimes fly it.I will refrain from getting the Herk (if it gets released this year) till I read positive remarks from users in this forum.

Hi Alex,In reality, the Herk is way more complicated than the B707. Thus I hold no hope that CS has modeled the systems properly. This being said, I was a beta tester for CS since the 727 and the 707 was the last CS product that I'll waist time testing for them. They had one beta release and the actual release had nill bug fixes from the beta.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
June 23, 200520 yr Al,Yep, I agree, I would like to fly the 707 occasionally, but the FM really sucks and is unmanagable for even me -- sorry, I don't like diving approaches and the like.Carry on Sir, you're on the right track.Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T.
