The thing is, you'll read positive and negative reviews for any region.  The vast majority I've seen for Norway have been positive.   Certainly, as someone who owns the product, I'm surprised anyone could view it as anything other than a stunning Orbx region.   The Norway Freeware stuff is excellent, but for me, Orbx Norway is a big improvement, and well worth the money.   

 

 

 

I can say, definitely, that for me, Norway is the most FPS-friendly scenery of all of the Orbx regions.   PNW can be heavy as a lot of it is around 'heavy' areas like Seattle and Portland.   NCA is so dense that I find that a little heavier too.    ENG is heavy because of London and again, dense scenery.    The most FPS-friendly Orbx sceneries in my experience are AUS and NORWAY.    And Norway is a much newer product, with new textures and newer Orbx technologies.

Hi Jose, I have literally just finished a flight from Aerosoft Stavanger, on a short hop up to Stord (ENSO);  there was a foggy cloudbase at 1000' feet and in the twilight hours I was flying, it was just a stunning flight from start to finish (flew it in the A2A C172).

 

I can't honestly say I've noticed a single incompatibility between the payware airports for Norway (I have Aerosoft Oslo 2.0, Bergen 2.0, Stavanger, Trondheim and Tromso), and FTX Norway.    Perhaps more purist types can notice colour mismatches but to me, they really blend perfectly.   Just had no issues.    I fly FTX Norway in the A2A's, in the NGX and Airbus, and everything in between.

I wouldn't write it off on size alone, it's pretty much the standard for mid sized bush planes and quite far removed from a C185.

 

But if you are looking for "stock Maule but better quality", A2A have a Piper Cub which has Tundra tyre, float and ski options.  It's an older A2A product but it does have Accusim available.

Personally. I'm loving the A2A C182 for Bush flying in Norway... it's a very capable choice :smile:

 

The old Carenado C185 is also greatly suited to Norwegian bush flying.

Norway is one of the better areas, it's big though so it is hard to find the best looking spots. Found a few good ones though. It's a little disorienting since the names all sound funny

 

Alaska might still have slightly better textures than Norway, but hard to say, Alaska was more consistent whereas Norway is a bit all over the place. Still it's a good one to buy. Going to try Southern Ireland, one of the last 2 areas I have not yet tried (haven't done that one or England), but have all the other ones.

 

Scotland and Alaska regions have the best textures I think...
