Parked at gate 5 of the Ninoy Acquino airport (NAIA) in Manila, Cathay Pacific flight CX746 waits for its last passengers, before it can depart across the China Sea to Macao and then on to Hong Kong

 

All doors are closed, the first pre-take off drinks had been served and were are being pushed away from the gate

 

Shortly before “Rotate” we thunder past the Asian Lufthansa technical center

 

 

 

After some two hours of flight time, we reach the Macao airspace

 

 

 

 

Macao has a distinctive connection from the runway to the airport

 

Welcome to the Asian capital of gambling
