May 15, 201511 yr Hello! I have tried to install the FTXGLOBAL_NA_AIRPORTS pack for the free airports in North America. I donwloaded it from the FTX homepage. When I execute the .exe my kaspersky screams that this is malware and dont want to execute this file... I had no problems with the pack for Europe. Anyone other have this problem, and maybe a workaround? Or is this really malware? ^^ Greetings, Klaus Schmitzer i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
May 15, 201511 yr No problem here running Avast. This is a popular package and certainly is not malware. May be one of those times to disable your AV software to get through the install of the airports. It's a great package! HTH Greg
May 15, 201511 yr It's not malware - it's the usual false positive result, typical of most anti-virus software. Judgement is your best anti-virus solution. If you're downloading from some back-alley, Russian website, then caution is advised. If you're downloading from Orbx's servers, you'll be fine.

September 7, 201510 yr By the way... does anyone know a good source for learning how to learn flying VFR on vatsim especialy in the USA? Best thing to do is just get out and fly. I assume you know the FAA VFR restrictions (check out the AIM off the FAA website if you don't). Follow those requirements and you won't have any problems. Remember that you are responsible for aircraft separation unless using flight following (only available if the ARTCC/departure is staffed). Use the UNICOM (122.8) to announce takeoff/landing/taxiing. The VATSIM forums has a tutorial/guidelines IIRC.
