FSX:SE Starting on Home Screen causes crash

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a setting/option where I can get FSX:SE to start in the Free Flight screen. It now starts in the "Home" screen, which attempts to display a website from Dovetail- causing the sim to crash suddenly on start. The times it does start successfully, the website doesn't load.

FSX Used to begin the screen where you last left off- but that function seems to have disappeared.

Check you FSX-SE.cfg for this entry to start on the Free Flight Screen.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Yes- that's not what I meant. If you don't show the opening screen, it'll load straight to the default flight.

What I'm talking about is the "home" screen that loads a webpage from DoveTail. FSX used to start right where you left off. If you quit FSX in the settings screen, you'd begin there the next time you started the program. I'd like to be able to start in the "free flight" screen, and not have rubbish webpages from DoveTail loading.

I did some searching and someone else experienced this problem too:

Did you somehow resolve this issue?

No unfortunately. I migrated to P3DV3 and have FSX boxed installed for Q400 beta testing.
