May 23, 201511 yr Is it possible to enter Lat / Lon waypoints into the JS41's FMC ? If yes, what is the correct format. Thank you, Ken Ken Boardman
May 23, 201511 yr I could be wrong, but am pretty sure you cannot enter a lat/lon waypoint. There are many of these encoded by the navdata, such as 4090N for N 40.00 W 090.00 but the options are limited to fixes in the database or an offset (radial/distance) waypoint as described in AOM Ch 8.11 pg 91 (pdg pg 517 of 543). May 23, 201511 yr Author The "offset (radial/distance) waypoint" technique should work for me Dan. I had read the AOM Avionics and FMS sectionsand was surprised to not find anything regarding FMC Lat / Lon entries > thus my question ~Thank you for responding.Ken Ken Boardman
May 23, 201511 yr was surprised to not find anything regarding FMC Lat / Lon entries > thus my question ~ Understandably; however, this FMS is an example of the avionics fielded during the early days of GPS/GNSS when RNAV was not synonymous with satellite-based systems. Note that it is not certified for IFR satellite-based navigation. Dan Downs KCRP
