May 29, 201511 yr I just installed the EJet but am having problems getting the FMS to initialize its departure airport. After alignment is complete I push NAV > NEXT > 1L where I see 3 lines, Last position, REF WPT & GPS 1 Position. The REF WPT line has no LAT LONG's it just shows dashes. The FMS wont allow me to enter a departure airport on this or any other page. I've followed a couple of forums as well as YouTube & can't seem to find what's going wrong. If it's any help I'm using windows 8 & FS2004 Thank you in advance for any help, Steve steve bowen
May 29, 201511 yr Sounds like the installation is incomplete. Have you got antivirus like Norton running in the background? Make sure to run the installer as admin. There is a freeware FMS database that was run by a fellow flight simmer but I cannot recall the name of the site. Do a search for FMS data updates for Wilco, Captain Sim. I will have a look and see if I can find the site and post back here if I find it. \Robert Hamlich/
May 29, 201511 yr A free AIRAC (very old, though) should be available from feelthere.com What happened to AVSIM
May 29, 201511 yr I checked Wilco and Feelthere and could not find an AIRAC even though it is mentioned on their support page. I saw that the OP has posted at one of their forums monitored by Scoob so he may have some luck. Too bad Terry Yingling's AIRAC database page is offline, at least the OP could have checked to see if the ND could be activated. All that's left is NavData payware for the OP to use. \Robert Hamlich/
May 29, 201511 yr Author OILLI & Hussar, thanks for taking the time to look at that for me. You both seem to think its a nav data base issue so I'll start from there. Surely I can't be the only one having this problem. I did have user accounts, firewall & anti virus off at the time of install. I'm wondering how to look on my computer to see which, if any, NAV DATA has been installed with the E-Jet. Thanks again for looking at this for me Steve ***UPDATE*** I installed Navigraph and that was no help steve bowen
May 30, 201511 yr I am sorry for my false information; feelThere seem to have withdrawn the free AIRAC from their website. Heck, I got a similar issue resolved just the other day by reinstalling my payware navigraph AIRAC ... What happened to AVSIM
May 30, 201511 yr Hi Steve, Just a couple of things going through my head. Is there a "Fonts" folder inside the FS9 main installation folder? I have one inside FSX. What about when you install the aircraft, are you installing from a .zip (compressed) folder and not de-compressing first? Check the Panel folder where the aircraft is installed, it may be a little different but you should have some .CAB files and so on. It appears there is only a "FeelThere" addon folder that is placed within the root flightsim folder, I don't see a Wilco folder. You should see a ND folder inside the FeelThere folder that contains the cycle info. Here are a few screenshots of my installation: https://www.dropbox.com/s/frtgz4o7qo9mg71/Screenshot%202015-05-30%2007.22.27.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/810vp59soqphg7r/Screenshot%202015-05-30%2007.22.42.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/dhz7omdocj5qodu/Screenshot%202015-05-30%2007.21.36.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/gg3gy3azt472rpk/Screenshot%202015-05-30%2007.24.00.png?dl=0 \Robert Hamlich/
May 30, 201511 yr Author Olli, I always wondered what it would be like to use the Airac & it was a $7 choice so don't worry about it. Thank for chiming in!! Hussar, of the 4 links that you posted, everything you have on yours is just like mine except: On your 2nd link posted, your MDB file is 4 times larger than mine. 3rd link - my FTEMB.CAB file is missing. 4th link - Nothing has been recently installed in fonts. My latest file there shows to be in year 2002 By decompressing, I think you mean to save Feelthere to the computer 1st then install? Thanks very much for your help Hussar! Steve steve bowen
May 31, 201511 yr I believe the installation file that you download is an .exe and is not zipped (compressed) so that shouldn't be the issue. \Robert Hamlich/
May 31, 201511 yr I see that Scoob has answered: Restart FS.Be sure you follow how to load a flight as outlined in introduction. If this doesn't help uninstall and reinstall the plane. Hope that fixes it, good luck. \Robert Hamlich/
