No sound with Win7 P3Dv2.5

Featured Replies

I cannot get FS2Crew 777 v1.5 to produce sounds under Win7 Professional SP1.

The Win7 Sound panel shows main speakers set to Stereo and producing P3Dv2.5 PMDG 777 sound correctly. Also shows that headset set to Stereo and tests correctly with left and right chimes. Speech Properties shows Run Speech Recognition at startup is unchecked.

I have no ability to execute Windows Start Speech Recognition, even as administrator.

In FS2Crew, Voice set ON; DSP set ON; HM set OFF; HS set ON; CFG set to 'HS: Speakers (Sennheiser U320 Gaming) headset.

AUDIO TEST/RESET: left click gives AUDIO in main window, right click gives RESET in main window and FS2CREW: STOPPED and STARTED in the P3D window.

Speech recognition is working. If I say Dome Light On/Off this actions correctly.

Any help in solving my sound problem will be much appreciated.

Cheers, Richard

You're not supposed to have that running with FS2Crew running or your speech commands may be interpreted as "Windows" commands.

What if you set HS to off on the FS2Crew Main Panel and you run the audio test?  Still no sound?

Hi Bryan,

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

I was only trying to run Start Speech Recognition to ensure that it was NOT running.

If I set HS to off and run the audio test, still no sound.

So, I am saying that all tests show that Windows and P3D are set up correctly, but FS2Crew is not.

Hi Bryan,

Have tried re-installing my audio drivers but Win7 says that they are all up-to-date.

After some experimentation, the problem was solved by temporarily inactivating Microsoft Security Essentials whilst installing FS2Crew 777.

All is well now!
