June 1, 201511 yr PMDG does not use Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 (msvcr80.dll). They currently use Microsoft Visual C++ 2010. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 is required to run FSX though and yours is out of date. According to the AVSIM CTD Guide, page 6, this is the link to get the lastest version of Microsoft Visual 2005 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2019667. Make sure you download and run the 32 bit version and make sure you DO NOT download the Microsoft Visual Studio. You want the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. This will probably not fix your problem(s) but it needs to be updated in any case. Microsoft Visuals are used by developers to make sure their products are INSTALLED properly in the way they intended. So, most likely you have an install problem. Install problems can be cause when you do not select to run the installation program with the Administrator, do not disable UAC, and do not disable any anti-virus/malware program. These programs are trying to save you from evil people on the Internet and they sometimes think what you are installing is a virus when it is not. So, to save you, it puts the program into another location on your computer or it does not make the required registry entries. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
