Sale on 1TB SSD, Considering it

Recommended Posts

I see a sale on newegg for a samsung evo 1tb drive thats $120 off its usual price. Working on a new build, wondering if its worth it to spend that much just for a data/game/fsx drive that is a SSD. I already have a SSD slotted for the OS drive. Its good to have options...

Is it a 840? If so its a good drive but you'll have to run the Samsung magician once in a while to re-optimize the drive. Otherwise the read speeds slow way down over time.

I believe the latest firmware for the drive does this automatically, but only time will tell.

Cheers!

Good deal at that price.  If you have the money to get it and not cut corners elsewhere, do it.
