July 11, 201510 yr Anyone own this aircraft? I do. She is a beauty to fly, but recently I wanted to take a brake from flying the 200 and went for a short hop in the 700. But what something I noticed perplexed me. I load the default cessna, turn it off, then switch to the wilco crj 700, so it's cold and dark, and begin to start it up. Then when I'm ready to start up, I notice the radio stack stops working (It won't let me tune the radios) and then the engines won't start at all. The key commands don't even work. Sometimes though if I'm quick enough, the radio is still working and the engines are able to start. Wierd huh? Anyways, another problem I have is that even when I load low fuel and pax, both in fsx and in the FMC, it takes almost full takeoff power to get it moving, and am unable to get fast enough to get it off the runway, even on a very light load. Could anybody please shed some light on this? Or tell me the files I could mess around with to get this to work? Any help appreciated. Thanks! Also, something I noticed about the fuel issue is that when I start FSX and immediately jump to the wilc0 crj 700, I can taxi using a normal amount of thrust and take off just fine. But once I shut down the engines and start them up again, then it takes too much power to taxi and I can't take off. Any wilco crj users that have vol 1 see if you get this problem. Thanks! July 11, 201510 yr I don't know if you have the crj nextgen but I bought that and it is rubbish . They don't support their products . If you want a good crj200 the best one is the jrollon one for x-plane. I deleted the Wilco crj200 which was wasting space. John John Callum Nothing is impossible if you don't have to do it yourself. July 11, 201510 yr Anyone own this aircraft? I do. There's your problem. It's an old, terribly modeled, bug-riddled plane from a company with awful tech support. Aerosoft is developing a high fidelity CRJ-700/900 and another company is going to release the CRJ-200 for fsx. Until then, if you're interested in regional flying, your best options are the FeelThere ERJ-135/145 or the Majestic Q400.
July 11, 201510 yr Author Ok. I understand. It's wilco. Now before I bought this product, I read all the reviews about how bad of a product it is. Instead of buying the next generation, I went and bought the Volume one instead. And guess what, I enjoy it! It's a wonderful airplane. And this is coming from a person who has nearly 500 hours in the NGX and almost 200 hours on vatsim. I'm fluent in flying sids and stars and have the whole start up procedures for all the planes memorized, and I'm not even old enough to drive or get my private pilots license. I know it's not a high fidelity simulation, but then again it was never meant to be. The things that are modeled are modeled well. Better than the default. So it's a little bugged, so what? I've already fixed a few. I own the erj and the ejets and when aerosoft and the other team release their crj, I'll buy them. I respect your opinions on wilco, and thanks for the suggestions. But if you don't have anything to say that is remotely HELPFUL regarding this topic, then please don't post. And if no one knows any fix, so be it. Still a great addon. Just seeing if anyone wouldn't happen to know anthing. Thanks Taneb Tanin Shipman I may be young, but one of these days I'll be flying you around...
July 12, 201510 yr Author Sorry, I didn't mean to scare anyone off with that last comment, I know it was a little harsh. Just that I've read over and over and over that wilco is bad, and I purchased a simple, probably one of the most hated planes in FSX history, and yet I still like it? And I'm a hard core simmer as well. Basically what I'm saying is that just because many think it's a bad addon doesn't mean everyone in the world has given up on it, and many can still see the beauty in this wonderful plane. Unfortunately, there isn't much support for it anymore, if any at all. So coming from a world that hates Wilco and asking support for some of their planes, only to find more people that hate the addon and are not willing to give a helping hand is a little disappointing. Yes, I know it's supposedly a BAD addon, but I get that. Sooooo, for those of you that may have a fix or an idea, that would help make this addon less disappointing and more enjoyable. Sorry to everyone, and thanks ;-) Taneb Tanin Shipman I may be young, but one of these days I'll be flying you around...

Sorry to everyone, and thanks ;-) Taneb I would've given you help if I could have, but I haven't had it installed in years and completely forgot how to fly it. It's good that you enjoy it, but personally I just couldn't get over the bugs and the bad visuals. The most I can do is offer you the standard advice of trying a reinstall will full permissions/antivirus off. From your OP it sounds like it may be some sort of battery issue, but I haven't flown it in a while so I wouldn't know for sure.
July 12, 201510 yr Nextgen is not much better. The throttle unresponsiveness led to it's removal. Q400 or Embraer is my choice or the JS4100 from pmdg for regional stuff. Come on better CRJ, love that AC. Can't wait, but on the other hand yes I can. Timothy Murphy
July 12, 201510 yr Author Thanks. I know your doing your best, it is very bugged and needs some work. I think I may have figured out one of the problems, that my avionics is off when I switch from the cessna to the crj, so the radios end up not working, but i'm not for sure. I'll have to test it tomorrow, as it's getting late. Nextgen is not much better. The throttle unresponsiveness led to it's removal. Yeah, actually I think the volume 1 version may be better to be honest, as I've heard that the nextgen is very bad with the autopilot, the volume 1 version is just fine and handles quite well with the autopilot, and the throttle works good, too. Most of the bugs if not all are because it was ported over to fs9. I do wish that I could arm the reverse thrusters and have more freedom on the fms and the looks, but for 2004 is not bad. But believe me, as soon as the aerosoft comes out with their CRJ, then yeah, sorry wilco. Going in the trash. Once I get the money I will purchase the majestic dash 8, only problem is most if not all of my favorite airlines don't fly it, more of a european thing for the dash 8. Just wish these companies will man up and get to the regional industry, and if PMDG made a crj or erj, then they'd probably be selling more than their 737. Sigh... July 12, 201510 yr Author And if anyone needs a fix to the black-gauges bug that you get when purchasing the wilco volume 1 crj product, let me know as I have found an easy fix for it. Just be sure that you downloaded BOTH for fs9 and fsx for my fix to work. Happy landings  Taneb Tanin Shipman I may be young, but one of these days I'll be flying you around...
July 12, 201510 yr Author Also, take a look at this. This is in the fuel section of the aircraft cfg for the 700: [fuel] Center1=-6.860000,0.000000,-1.500000,685.000000,0.000000 LeftMain=-3.000000,-19.000000,0.000000,1118.000000,0.000000 RightMain=-3.000000,19.000000,0.000000,1118.000000,0.000000 fuel_type=2.000000 number_of_tank_selectors=1 electric_pump=0 No matter how much fuel I put in the tanks, it always stays the same. Could someone tell me how to modify them in order to get the correct amount of fuel so that the aircraft acts like it has that much fuel in the tanks? July 12, 201510 yr Author Also, when I load the default cessna first, it has full fuel. Then I turn it off, switch to the Wilco CRJ and I load in my proper amount of fuel for the flight. But my aircraft still acts like it has full fuel. Could this be something from switching from the cessna to the crj? Do I need to load in my fuel percentage in the Cessna, then switch to the crj to get it to work? Tanin Shipman I may be young, but one of these days I'll be flying you around...
July 12, 201510 yr just because many think it's a bad addon doesn't mean everyone in the world has given up on it, and many can still see the beauty in this wonderful plane. I miss flying it too, but I gave up due to lack of navdata. What do you do for terminal procedures? I tried something I found on avsim ru, but it didn't work like the original. I tried to fix it with little success.
July 12, 201510 yr Author I miss flying it too, but I gave up due to lack of navdata. What do you do for terminal procedures? I tried something I found on avsim ru, but it didn't work like the original. I tried to fix it with little success. You want to know how I fly them? Well, it's a little unprofessional but first you need to get navdata from navigraph. It updates all waypoints and vor's and all that except terminal procedures. Then, go to simbrief.com (unfortunately you have to create an account but it's free) and go to dispatch and file a flightplan. (You have to update simbriefs database with navigraph as well, if you don't it's default airac is 1403.) Once you file a flight plan, export it to fsx, and load the flight plan, just don't click on find route. Once you've done that go to the fms and index and import fsflightplan. It will give you your whole flight plan. Now, the thing is, in you fms it won't say: BOACH6 departure-flight plan-KEPEC3 arrival, because remember navigraph doesn't update sids and stars in your fms. But with fhe flight plan you exported it will contain all the waypoints of the sid and star, and you manually enter the restrictions. Simplified, it doesn't give you sids or stars but all the waypoints within them, still the same thing. And viola! Seems like a lot but it's actually pretty easy. I haven't updated my airac, so I've had to make a few compromises on VATSIM, but soon once I get the money I will update. Hope this helps! July 16, 201510 yr Thanks, I use that technique for INS and GPS flying into regional fields and such, but not really a solution when flying RNAV approaches during Friday Night Ops on VATSIM. I have a navigraph subscription, and along with this guys update I was almost able to make it work, but gave-up after too many little glitches. Maybe I'll pour a few drinks this weekend and re-visit it.
