Project Fokker v2 and GPS

Featured Replies

Hi,I am new in GPS stuff. I try to use it with Project Fokker F70 v2. Flight plan is loaded. (FSNavigator is switched off). I switch the selector on the top let corner to the right position (GPS). The GPS led in the AP turns on, but the plane is still following the HDG instead of the GPS flight plan route. Is it working at all? Do I make something wrong?Gabor

>Did you switch the AP to NAV?I was just recommended on another forum to do that. No, I did not do that. I think that was the problem. I will test this evening. So the correct setting is:- The FSNav/NAV/GPS switch should be on GPS- The NAV switch on AP should be ON- The GPS switch on AP should be ONIs this correct? Thanks,Gabor

On the Fokker, start by tracking the heading bug, using the SELECT switch under the heading knob.Activate a GPS course on the GPS.Then push both GPS and NAV buttons on the autopilot. The heading SELECT button should turn off.

>There is no GPS switch on the AP...OK, I will check, but I think there are two columns each having 4 switches/leds. Upper-left is NAV and upper-right is GPS.>I do not know what the FSNAV switch is either...If you set the 3-state FSNAV/NAV/GPS switch to FSNAV, the plane will be controlled by FS-Navigator addon (http://www.fsnavigator.com, similar that of an FMC). Works well.>Somewhere in the cockpit you should have a NAV/GPS switch, it>determines where the autopilot steering gets it's input.. it>should be on GPS.Yes this is the situation in case of the standard aircrafts equipped with GPS. But not in the case of Project Fokker. They implemented a 3-state switch FSNAV/NAV/GPS as I mentioned earlier.Gabor

Just because there are 3 postitions instead of only 2 doesn't alter the functionality...

See my edited post above...in addition, the three way NAV/GPS switch and the GPS button on the AP, do the same thing and move together..The key is that the AP will either follow the heading bug: HDG SELECT button, or the active navigation device: NAV button. The NAV/GPS switch determines which device is the active navigation device for autopilot steering.

Of course you have to set the switch to GPS but you also have to select the NAV button on the AP also.I am recently flying the plane and it is working.Gabor
