Windows 10 for PMDG?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know if the FS9 PMDG 737NGs install OK in Windows 10,via the CD-ROMs?

Thanks for any input on this over the next month or two, as many people (presumably) migrate to Win10.

Why wouldn't it? CD-ROM's won't cease to function

No, very sorry if I somehow gave you the impression that I thought that they would! Any possible issue would be software/registry related, not hardware.

I don't know, I'm just covering my back really before going with one O/S or another. Was  looking for someone who has PMDG FS9 a/c (737 and 747) running fine in Win10: do the aircraft config.exe tools work and so on? Do you get the PMDG menu on the FS9 menu bar OK? Is the CDU all OK? Anything at all that works oddly?

More of an issue, it's true, might be software that has to reinstall via the internet, for security reasons: I have already read posts where folks say they can't get Flight1 wrappers to work in Win10, for instance.

Don't think it is such an obviously dumb question as your answer seems to imply

I would wait a couple of months before going to Win10.  Early test results indicate there may be a problem running FS9 with CD4 mounted - any other use would be a violation of the EULA.

OK, thanks. In any case, I have posted this early insofar as my purchase is concerned - I shan't be deciding on the new rig until the start of September. Hopefully by then things will be clearer.
