It's been 4 years since I last flew my airplane. I think it's time to go back.ThomasN15802

Yes That would be nice.....Maybe it could come close if MS would consider an X-Bot platform.....even the best PC is yet not capable of handling graphics in FS9 with consistant smoothness.

Hello All, Yep, thats why we all do and use to do it! As for flight sim's next offering being that good, well, we can always hope, but I sort of doubt it . . . (sigh) oh well, perhaps some day.On the subject of the documentary, I suggest everyone try to get a copy as the subject is Van Nuys airport, which has about the most history as any I have known . . . and the individuals who have, and do fly out of there daily, are just awsome. By the way, does anyone know, but the pilot of the DC 3 sure looked alot like Clay Lacy . . . he's been around forever and what a patron of aviation! And what a facility he has at that airport.Again, great video, but I doubt if FS10 will be that good.Best to all, Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Interstingly enough as you look at the live video you really do get glimpses of FS9 as it is now.- Ground textures look very similar to photoreal terrain areas for the same location- Cloud scapes are very close to what is possible with ASV + Flight Environment (I am madly in love with FE!!!)- Aircraft are similar to the best photoreal jobs that we have available to us now- Final approach scene looked similar to photoreal terrain airports with autogen housesI think that FS9 suped up with the appropriate add-ons can provide 70% of what was shown in the video. The biggest difference is the fluidity of motion. That's what flight is all about. If you took that video dropped the frame rate in half, had it sputter and pause as they flew though the clouds, had the terrain textures fill in as they changed camera views and had the frame rates drop even further on the approach, it would look much closer to FS9 :-lol. I built the fastest home computer that money can buy and it can't consistantly retain > 25fps (video quality) 100% of the time. So I figure MS needs to code FS10 for the NEC Earth Simulator Super Computer (actually 640 computers linked together) which can simulate (as the neame infers), the earth! With 35.86 Trillion calculations per second, it is the fastest computer on the planet. *Sigh*, but I can see it now someone will post "HELP! I spent $500 million on my new rig and I'm only getting 5 fps on approach to Simflyer's JFK scenery (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - whoops, couldn't resist).Mike T.

Hey old man: Shouldn't you be out feeding cows? BTW, the pilot of the DC3 looked kind of old and decreped, are you sure it wasn't you!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Gimme a call!Mike T.

Nice setup Mike. If only my wife would let me!RH

ClaytonMight have skipped over this apart from your mention of the DC-3! Thanks. Great movie.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]
