August 1, 200520 yr Dillon I am sorry you took my question as an offense and believe me, for Bible concerns I am at the good place here in Jerusalem to know what you mean :-cool The purpose of my post was not to judge you but to understand you. Please forgive me if you think I wanted to paint a wrong picture of you, I know and appreciate your contribution to the FS world and this was really not my purpose. You are, as I am, very present and active on forums and I "know" you as a pertinent and helpfull person. As such I was really surprised by the number of your posts I saw on the past weeks about the BBJ and probably because I don't like Ariane's products they catch my interest.I have had a very bad, expensive, frustrating, unpolite and anti- commercial experience with Ariane and that's right to say that I am very "sensitive" to that subject.I reacted here because I really wanted to understand the reason why the BBJ changed drastically your opinion but also because I was sincerely annoyed by the title of your post which sounds like some marketing stuff "While you wait for the football match you can have some XYZ popcorns!".I recognize that partially quoting someone's post can lead to bad interpretation but again the purpose was to illustrate my question and not to conduct a trial. And for DF, that was absolutely not ironical from me as I didn't know you were beta tester for Lou !!! (sorry for this one Michael :-) ), it was a supposed "elegant" way to conclude my post but apparently it didn't work !!! *:-* Regards,David - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
August 1, 200520 yr MikeI was not rebuking Dillon for his posts and indeed confirmed my feelings that he has the right to make his feelings known earlier in this thread. My point is that very recently, posts all about the Ariane BBJ and 'reviews' of it were posted on this forum (within the last few days), and more than extensive comparisons have been posted on numerous occassions comparing the Ariane product to PMDG's (which a very quick & easy search will reveal).Having read Dillon's title to this thread and it's subsequent content all about the Ariane BBJ, it looked very much like marketing and was certainly an unnecessary repeat of the many comparisons which have been 'done to death'...... And if you do want to try and draw 'fair' comparisons between the Ariane BBJ and PMDG's 737, you can't because PMDG haven't produced a BBJ. I humbly suggest that for other comaprisons between the developers, you won't have to search far to find all the comparisons you could ever want....Toni.
August 1, 200520 yr Author Thanks David for clarifying yourself here... As far as Ariane goes, contact Bob Oswald (Bobbo) from now on. Any emails to Ariane should say specifically to Bobbo. Some of those guys over there can be real anal I must admit. I don't know if it's one guy or a few but 'Bobbo' apologized to me for the attitudes. Every since I've been trying to negotiate a price drop with him on some of their future add-ons, a SP1 release plan, and suggestions for upcoming features. I don't know how many suggestions they'll take heed to or when but it looks promising. So if you see a price drop or some cool features in the next Service Pak, you can thank me and Staffan. I'm really trying to get these guys to come around concerning their unreasonable pricing system. It seems their getting good sales for the BBJ so it's opened up the flood gates of reason.I originally suggested to them to do the BBJ over a year ago. I can't say for sure if that's the reason they opted to do the BBJ. I told them basically its financial suicide to try and go head to head with a developer like PMDG who already produced an outstanding 737NG package. A different angle would be needed to get the sales they need and set their product apart. I don't know why so many developers can't see the advantage of producing titles their competition aren't currently doing. Case in point because no one else has a BBJ with this level of detail, Ariane FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
