Right click on a .bgl and choose "open with..."

Pick what program you want to open them with and make sure there is a check in "always use..."

BTW, FS doesn't care what program you have set to open them, FS will still use them as expected.

Joe

Unassociate a file type utility is what you need. Did a search and didn't come up with anything for Windows10. I'll look around.

Good utility, I've had to use it to fix an error also. Mark has Windows10 so I didn't say anything. Windows 10 help page wasn't much help. It's going to take some time before fixes are figured out. Couldn't hurt to try.

As Joe stated above, you do not need to unassociate .bgl files.  FSX-SE, FSX, and P3D could care less if you have your files associated with another program like Notepad.

Go to your Control Panel (right click on the icon in the lower left corner and select Control Panel.  Once Control Panel is open, type in the search box in the upper right corner - Default.  Click on Default Programs and then Set Associations.

Scroll down the list and look for .bgl (you probably will not find it as it is not associated with anything, not even FSX).  If it is there and associated with Notepad, delete it.  There should be no .bgl listed.

Hope this helps.

Jim,

I have done as you have suggested.

The ,bgl file is in the list and associated with notepad, but I it seems that I am unable to delete it using Windows 10. Have I missed something?

Regards

Mark
