Engine start up

Featured Replies

Can't start engines keep saying insufficient air pressure where am I going wrong what should I be doing using sop2.

Many thanks

To get sufficient pressure for engine starts, you need the following config:

_ Isolation valve open

_ Both PACS OFF

_ Ground air start unit connected or APU running with APU bleed ON

Check on the pressurization panel that you have at least 30psi of air pressure.

If you don't have the correct configuration while asking for engine start, it means probably that the before engine start procedure and before engine start checklist are not completed.

I don't know the SOP2 specifically (I use only SOP1) but you may check using the SOP2 tutorial that the before start flows are done and that the checklist is completed without FO speaking something like "Are you sure?"

hello,

little bit late, but I´ve got the same problem with SOP 2 (Button Control)

- APU is running

- isolation valve open

- engine bleed air on

- APU bleed air on

- all hydraulic pumps on (no pushback)

- packs off

Have no "Are you sure?"

But can start manual.....

Any ideas?

Dieter

hi,

I even tried the following:

when I turn off one pack switch, duct pressure runs up to 40 psi

But the problem is not solved: insufficient air pressure

Dieter

Hi,

Do you mean that with the correct startup config (bleeds on, packs off, isolation valve open...) you can start manually but the FO refuses to start the engines himself?

I'm a bit confused because in your post #4 I understand that, but then in your following post, you're talking about switching off one pack and insufficient air pressure...

Can you clarify?
