September 10, 201510 yr Commercial Member Love the plane but way over my head so far. I am trying to figure out the cdu or fmc and want to know how to clear it completely so I can start over again. Only way I found was to load the plane again cold and dark but I would at least like to start off with the engines running and most items checked for this practicing. September 10, 201510 yr go to RTE and enter your ORIGIN airport again, all route programing will be cleared for you to start over. Manuel Merelles
September 10, 201510 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks, I was hoping there was a simple way to do it . Ops, that didn't work, I have the wrong fuel in perf section and it remains no matter what I do. I changed the departure airport and the destination airport but that fuel number is still there. September 10, 201510 yr Author Commercial Member Common guys, there has to be a way to clear a cdu or maybe airline pilots don't make mistakes that need correcting? September 10, 201510 yr Reading threads on other Boeing FMS's it seems maybe power cycling the IRS switches does the trick of resetting the FMS. Whether that is modelled in the FF 757 I couldn't say and I'm not near my PC to test it. Give it a go.
September 10, 201510 yr Common guys, there has to be a way to clear a cdu or maybe airline pilots don't make mistakes that need correcting? honestly i do not know if there is a way to reset the FMC like booting it up or something like that. Pilot makes mistakes and you can correct any mistake easily. Why would you like to reset the FMC? -to clear up the route (including sid/star) you simply enter the origin airport again -to change anything on the perf/takeoff profile, you simple override existing value and anything that needs to be recalculated will be recalculated automatically. Why would you like to kind of reset the hardware? Manuel Merelles
