Hi Everyone,

I pulled the trigger on a Samsung 85" 4K Ultra HD 3D Smart TV, it will be here Monday.  I'll let you know how it looks, I'll get some vidoes up ASAP.

Thanks

gb,

Approx how far do you sit from your screen? I sit about 3 feet from mine (currently a 50") and I'm wondering if 65" would be too overwhelming at that distance. Seems like it would, but with the curve and all, maybe it would really improve the peripheral effect??

I'm sitting at three feet from the screen myself.

At that distance the curve helps a little with the viewing angle picture quality.

It's size did seem a little overwhelming at first but now just seems right.

If you have the space and money I would not go smaller.

As for flat verses curved I guess you really need to get into a store that has them on display to make that personal decision.

You also might want to consider how high or low you will put it.

If you just place it on a normal desk you are going to be staring up at the ceiling almost which is not good for the neck health wise.

Yes, you make some excellent points. Didn't really consider the height of a screen that big and I don't think I can put it anywhere other than the desk, unless I mount it to the wall behind the desk.

I think I need to see them in person before I get ahead of myself. Also, I see that OLED sets are around at a decent price. Have to do some research on those as well.

Thanks for the advice,

Jay

Oh, and good luck Mike, sorry to go all OT on you!
