Can't Init Simconnect Error- What does this mean?

Featured Replies

I just upgraded to V3 on my computer, I currently been using V2.5.  After install this pops up when starting the sim.  Why does this occur?   At the same time I am having trouble with some add on sceneries not showing the addon manager on the drop down list, it never ask me when I start if I trust the addon manager like in files prior.

Any thoughts on these two issues?  Thanks!

It means one of your 3rd Party software that uses simconnect does not work properly in v3.  You will have to wait until the developer of the 3rd party product comes up with an installer and makes it compatible w/v3 (if he/she decides to make it compatible).  Usually 3rd Party developers make sure simconnect functions are configured properly when they update their products.  This is why AVSIM recommends you wait for the official installers for your 3rd Party addons and go fly with the new v3 and check out all of the new aircraft and new scenery and see how great the fps are (or not).  Eventually, the product developer will find time to release an installer to make your unknown product(s) work in v3.

Hi Anthony,

I had this very same problem a few days ago after installing some add ons. I found a solution when I realized that these add ons required a simconnect.xml file that I'd forgotten to copy over from v2.5 to v3. Once I did this the error was gone.

This file is found in the App Data folder for v2.5.

I hope this helps.
