Recommended Posts

UK2000 have just released Southend Xtreme for FS9. Just about to purchase. Looks great on the web site.

Thanks to Gary for supporting FS9.

Thanks for the headsup! Has anyone already managed to install UK2000 Parts 1-8? I get this error message: Insert Disk#1. The following file is missing: C:\Users\SASCHA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\7zOF98C.tmp

I am using Vista.

Cheers,

Sascha

Hi Sascha, I just tried Part 1 - I extracted the installer from the zip file and it ran OK, including the configuration screen at the end. I'm using Windows 7 x64.

You need to extract first the contents of the zip file before installing. I had also this error, but I could install part 4 (EGLL) without any issues.

Unzipping first did the trick! Thank you!

I will be getting Southend next time I buy payware scenery.

I do have a question about the new freeware UK2000 parts 1-8 before I install them. Is there a way to remove individual airports? I have newer versions of airports that come in the parts 1-8.

Yes there is. Full instructions are on the UK2000 website, but basically if you want to remove EGLL for example, all the scenery for EGLL (AFCAD, buildings, taxisigns etc.) will have EGLL in the filename. Move all of them to a backup folder and they won't conflict with your newer version of EGLL.

Thanks for the heads-up, and thanks to Gary for another excellent FS9 scenery!

Wonder if my download at 07:00 UT yesterday was updated already?

EDIT: No it wasn't but getting the patches is really easy.

Actually UK2000 is the only software I trust enough to install direct to sim folders. While getting the update I trawled my other titles and found many missing updates. It took all of 3 minutes going "download/click .exe/next..."

Although involved somewhat in another era at present, I did want to sneak a peak:

Plenty of static models, was that a Vulcan I saw while beating up the tower?

Indeed yes, and I understand 1 of 3 that can still be started up.

Are the untextured 146's part of the graveyard I wondered?
