I got P3d v3 to try it out and I do like the lighting and effects. However, I seem to be stuck with the default planes as there are not much V3 planes out there as yet. I would want to install my Carenado Caravan for example (the first one) but it only installed to FSX as the installer did not ask which simulator.

There is already a very long post here on Avsim listing developer addons that are compatible with V3. I suggest you take a look at it.

My system specs: Intel [email protected] - 5.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB  DDR4  RAMNoctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler,1TB Seagate SSD, 4TB Seagate HD, Windows 10, Asus 32 inch monitor, Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, Rudder Pedals and Trim Wheel     Sims: MSFS2020      Preferred Aircraft  Black Square Bonanza, and Baron, A2A Comanche, PMDG DC-6, Red Wing L1049

There are very few with P3D3 installers. To my knowledge, here is a list:

PMDG 737 and 777

A2A Comanche 250, Cherokee 180, C172, C182

Carenado F406 Caravan II

Aerosoft EEL F6 and F3

BlackBox A320

and that's it.

Some are just around the corner and will come soon (hopefully):

RealAir Turbine Duke

Aerosoft Airbus A318/A319/A320/A321

Of course, there are many planes that work, but you'll have to handle the installation, and the risks...
