I have the same register key but with a space between Dovetail and Games.

 

Just for your information!!!

you have a space there and that’s the problem; installer is still looking in the key below for the path;

(you can’t change it and it may affect other add-ons as well!)

 

if you manually add this to your reg; the installer will continue

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\DovetailGames\FSX]
"install_path"="C:\\Games\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\FSX"

save the above to FSXSE.reg file, right click and merge; installer will continue after that,

(just make sure Install Path is referencing the path your SE is installed in)

 

how old/new is your SE edition? (trying to narrow this issue somehow)

My fsx-se edition is 10.0.62615.0 and the exe file is dated around end of October.
