Sound probs in V3

Featured Replies

I have an Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme sound card with all the latest drivers. Also, have V2.5 in which there is no sound problems. I check both versions .CFG files abd the lines in the [sound] are exactly the same. What happens in V3: No sound with the stock ATC, just text messages to the ATC window, Now, if I add RadarContact & make an ATC call, the call starts but then fade away. Text does appear in the RC window. Yes, I have the layest version of FSUIPC.

Is Radar Contact even supposed to work with V3?

Yes.  It uses FSUIPC, so pretty much any FS program that has a standard FSUIPC interface works (FS9, FSX, FSX-SE, and all versions of P3D to date).

It also worked without problems in both 2.4 & 2.5

Ok, here's the latest. After loadding the latest FSUIPC I went and loaded P3D V2.5 to make sure that all was working correctly including sounds & it was. Then I brought up both v2.5 & v3 .CFG files and made sure that the sound entries were the same. Then I tested v3 with FSUIPC unloaded & all the sounds worked. Then I loaded v3 with FSUIPC loaded & again all the sounds were working, so it seems that the problem was taken care. Next is to load add-ons, REX for weather & RadarContact for ATC & make sure that the sounds are working ok. I will let you know if it craps out again but I have a feeling it should work all right. Key, I think, was that all [sOUND] statements that were working in v2.5 were the same in v3. Mayb there is a lesson in there some place. Thanx again for the responses.

Regards.
