September 13, 200520 yr Ha,Ha, Ha!!! ride on mike!!! well, we went from piloting to dead reckoning seat of the pants flying to NDBs-ADF to VOR GPS navigation with the autopilot so it's an evolving thing so we're gonna have to go with it or be left behind. the automation does make a difference like mike said and i have to agree 100%. it's like anything that's new though just takes time to get used to like going from the old record albums and 8 track tape decks to CD and DVD players. that was a hard corner for me to turn but turn i did and wouldn't go back. you're still in charge of the aircraft and have weather to deal with and making sure random "failures" are enabled can spice up a boring flight if you want to be more realistic. a good time to step back and have a GOOD look at everything from a real pilots perspective. william PS: i'm not a real pilot
September 14, 200520 yr I can see the point that computer redundant/driven aircraft may become less interesting to flight simmers flying software versions of the same models. In real life terms, real lives of real people are at stake here, newer IS better in that regard. As others have stated, just plug in a DC -8 or Piper cub and eschew buying the newer software versions that may appear.......errrrrrrrr... that is dont tell us when you do infact buy PMDGs version of the 797 or whatever Boeing will come up with in the future, cause you KNOW you will!>>>"Remember........to be the MAN.......you gotta BEAT the man"<<<<.......Ric "Nature Boy" Flair>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
