November 28, 201510 yr I fly primarily with an xbox 360 controller. I'm a very casual flyer, so please don't laugh. But this has been bugging me ever since the FSX days and I still can't figure out as to what's causing this. I am using P3D v3, EZDOK 1.18.7 (the latest version)... Whenever I am flying in the virtual cockpit view and use my right thumbstick on the xbox 360 controller to pan my view around and hold it there for a few seconds, it will reset my view back and the screen starts to flicker between 2 conflicting views... how can I fix this? I'm not sure if there's some conflict between EZDOK or not. But I would like for the view to hold as long as I have that right thumbstick pointed in a particular angle, and as soon as I let go, then will I want it to reset my view back. That is the behavior that I want. November 28, 201510 yr Author I made a video on youtube to demonstrate what I'm talking about, if you guys skip to 3:08 in the video you will see that I am using the right thumbstick on my xbox controller to view/pan around the VC... I am trying to view out the left and right and main window, and I will have my thumb held in that position in order to stay in that view, however it keeps wanting to reset or go back to the main view, and at times if you watch closely, the screen will flicker between 2 views. How can I prevent this from happening? I want it to only reset back to the main view when I release my thumb off the right control stick. https://youtu.be/TnpMFQ39cdI?t=3m8s ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU
November 29, 201510 yr Hello Aaron, to my knowledge you can not use the little joystick on an X-Box controller in a complete free pan mode, the view will always kick back to the centre view again. This is probably no good to you But you can use the little Black D pad on the left to free pan around the VC perfectly. To do this you have to first un-map the axis on the X-Box controller Joystick (the one that your not going to be using for flying) Strangely enough if you don't do this will still cause a confliction with the D Pad views. After Un-mapping the Joystick axsis. Go to your P3D control panel and into Button and Keys and find all the keys, Up, Down, Left, Right with (pan) only. Make sure you have the little sliders all the way to the right. When done hit Ok. Then go to your EZdok control panel, into options, into Joystick. See image below, Don't tick any box's, just X out of it.
November 29, 201510 yr Author Poppet thanks for sharing this info. I will give it a try tonight. But what you mentioned in red. So if I unmap the axis that I have currently now for view/pan on my right joystick. What will I use that for? November 29, 201510 yr Author Works, but however when I use the D-Pad to pan around, its very jerky movements and not smooth, any way to change this? November 29, 201510 yr So if I unmap the axis that I have currently now for view/pan on my right joystick. What will I use that for? Works, but however when I use the D-Pad to pan around, its very jerky movements and not smooth, any way to change this? Here's the thing though, if your using the D Pad for a free movement Panning, the Joystick axis on the right has to be Un-Mapped not to cause a confliction/Jerkiness. Im pretty certain of this. In this case you might not be able to use the right Joystick for anything. Experiment with it, insure first the axis on the Right has been Un-mapped correctly, to see if the Jerkiness on the D pad is gone. Once you have that stabilized and your happy with the D Pad, then experiment further to see if anything can be mapped to the right axsis that wont cause a jerkiness
