November 30, 201510 yr Good Morning Guys, how are you? After installing a few add-ons, all native P3D v3, I am not getting the following error when loading P3D. It then loads normally, once I accept the error. Any idea? "SimObject Display Engine for FSX/P3D has stopped working" Intalled AddOns: FTX Global, FTX Vector, Europe LC, REX, SoftClouds, AS Rome, AS Heathrow, FT Dubai, FT Vienna, FT Corfu, DD Warsaw 1.4, FSDT JFK v2. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated? Gio Giorgio La Pira
November 30, 201510 yr Hi Gio. I haven't been getting that exact error but have been having some other issues, especially with regard to the new LIRF, which uses SODE. The long and short of it is, though, that the current SODE version (check to see that you have 1.2.2) isn't really compatible with P3Dv3. The developer is currently working on 1.3 which will be compatible with P3Dv3 and will also include some other updates. Can't give you an ETA but head on over to FSDeveloper and look for the Sim Object Display Engine section and you should be able to find all of the buzz. Garrett Frank
November 30, 201510 yr SODE requires entries in DLL.XML And EXE.XML ... however be aware that some installers put the SODE entry in the other directory location for the DLL.XML and EXE.XML ... end results is that you may have two entries for SODE trying to load. Also possible you have an older version of SODE. Check to see if you have two DLL.XML and/or EXE.XML ... paths are: ...AppData\Roaming and ...ProgramData (usually on your main OS drive i.e. C:) It's ok to have two DLL.XML and EXE.XML as they get merged when P3D loads, however if you have duplicates that might cause issues ... the P3D ErrorContentLog file will display duplicate entries in it's log (text file) - but you need to have Error Content logging enabled (via P3D options UI). Also, when exiting P3D V3 it can take some time (30-90 seconds) for the entries in the EXE.XML to unload ... never restart P3D immediately after shutting it down. Cheers, Rob.
November 30, 201510 yr Author Hi Guys, thanks for your feedback. It does look like I have the SODE Installed, and I also looks like the entries are correct in both the exe and the dll XML files. I really don't know what is going on? How can I know if I have the latest version? I tried to install the one from their website, but it says that it's not recognising any installed P3dv2 so I can't get the installer to start? I really don't know what is going on :( Giorgio La Pira
November 30, 201510 yr Author Ok... so furthermore... I have dll.xml and exe.xml on both paths, so basically in the scenery.cfg folder AND in the p3d.cfg folder. They both had the sode entry. I tried to remove it from one... no success. :( Still same error. Giorgio La Pira
November 30, 201510 yr Best to hit up Aerosoft official support, I'm out of suggestions. Cheers, Rob.
November 30, 201510 yr Author Thanks guys... I don't understand why I have this and other people dont? not sure if AS scenery is the problem. I wouldn't be surprise if it was Warsaw from DD? Take care. Gio Giorgio La Pira
November 30, 201510 yr SODE is not P3d V3 compatible and a compatible version is due out soon. Pretty sure it is Jay ... it gets installed with updated Aerosoft airports and does indeed seem to work. Can you provide source of this info? Cheers, Rob.
November 30, 201510 yr http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/index.php?threads/430590/ As of 11/18 a bug fix version for P3d had not been released.
