December 11, 201510 yr Hello This weekend I will be taking delivery of a 970 4Gb to replace my 770 2GB, I am currently running with driver 347.88 and i know that I will need to uninstall the driver before upgrading the card but I am not sure how to do this properly, can anyone advise me? Also would I be better off downloading a later driver?, I mainly use FSX but also getting into P3D so would really appreciate some advice on the best driver to go for that is good for both sims ( have read issues that some drivers make runway lights dissapear) many thanks Daz My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer
December 11, 201510 yr From the 770 to 970, you shouldn't have to uninstall drivers at all. Card swap and maybe flush the shader's is all you should need to do. You might find that a fresh FSX or P3d cfg could help too, but wait and see if you need it. Driver wise, you can try new drivers if you want, but they aren't necessarily unless you are unhappy with the ones you have now. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
December 12, 201510 yr Hi Daz, Just did the same last week replacing my GTX 560Ti with a GTX970. I just uninstalled the existing Nvdia drivers, Nvidia control panel etc from Add/Remove programs then shutdown the PC. Removed the old card and installed the GTX970. Once booted up, I ran the drivers disk that came with the card. At that point you should be operational. Up to you whether you update to the latest driver version from the web. The version that shipped with the EVGA card was 355.xx Should be straightforward.
