Personally I prefer Scotflight to ORBX Scotland. There is now a version of Scotflight designed to sit atop ORBX Scotland that might improve things for you.

 

For the ultimate Scottish scenery though, you can't beat Horizon's VFR X although it is expensive and huge! Vol 8 Scotland South and Vol 7 Scotland Central are £20 each!

No, because they're at the same "level"; Horizon VFR X is photographic scenery textures, that means it's aerial photography accurately placed in the simulator (plus mesh and coastlines). Those photographic textures have to sit above FTX Scotland's textures (and associated autogen) which means you could only see FTX's airports.

but, it sounds like the OP might also have the corrupted terrain.cfg bug

i had the same thing with trees all over my runways and weird out of place textures
