VNAV Disconnect Message and FMC Frozen

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I am currently mid-flight, flying the PMDG 737 NGX and I just changed the CRZ level for the step climb appropriately, and then VNAV disconnects, and it says 'VNAV disconnect' in scratchpad of FMC and FMC does not respond. I can click buttons on the FMC yet still it won't.

Swift advice would be much appreciated as I am approaching T/D in 30 mins,

Cheers and merry christmas!!

Daniel

Full names in the PMDG forums please Daniel.

You didn't mention if you have auto step climb enabled. Just changing the ALT on the MCP will not initiate a step climb unless it is auto step enabled.

Not sure why VNAV disconnected, but it could be because it could no longer calculate the vertical path for whatever reason. Also, the FMA will always give you information about what the black boxes are doing.
