September 12, 200520 yr For some reason, when i loaded up Flight Simulator one time, I found out that every time i was flying, my screen went into slow motion and at the top in red, it said AIRCRAFT STRESS!!On the ground, if i hit a plane while maneuvering I get AIRCRAFT CRASH!!!I am finding this really irritating and it starting to tick me off. Any idea what this is? Where can i find it?Thanks for your help. :)
September 12, 200520 yr Hi,First off, at 5 or 6Z these boards are not super busy and you may need to wait jjjuuuusssttt a little bit for an answer. If you don't want Aircraft Stress slow your plane down.If you don't want Aircraft Crash quit hitting planes on the ground. The settings for those are on the General Settings screen under Realism.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 12, 200520 yr fwiw, this poster has a problem...he may not have expressed it in the fashion some of us uprefer, and he might be impatient...but, let's cut him some slack...he may be a newbie who just has to learn the ropes...as for the answer to your problem...I cannot imagine what is causing this...but, I'll check my own rig when I get home later today. If I have any ideas, I'll post...sherm
September 12, 200520 yr Most of us turn off (uncheck) the box in the realism settings where other aircraft can cause a crash.Watchout for addon scenery - some people remove default buildings from the visible display - but they are still considered "crashable" objects on the ground due to the manner in which the exclusion was done. Also some objects have HUGE areas they impact - sometime a couple wingspans away from the object. If you have never had an overstress problem before in many hours of flying - I'd recommend you look at the latest things you added to your FS world. If you are new - turn off crash detection in the realism settings. It is surpisingly easy to overspeed / overstress the aircraft when you are starting out.Don't fly with full fuel unless you will need it for the length of the flight,Don't fly at full throttle after getting off the ground and estabilishing a positive rate of climb.Try to keep your KIAS (air speed) under 250 kts under 10,000 feet.I find the medium realism settings much easier to fly than the easy settings. The aircraft reacts too quickly on the easy settings and I end up chasing the aircraft rather than flying ahead of the aircraft.

Jeez, calm down or get off the milk float.Despite your observation, the purpose of Flight Simulator is to NOT crash. Rather than simply switching the realism off, our poster WOULD be better off learning how NOT to overstress the aircraft, or crash. Best advice I can give, but obviously you will come back with better.Allcott

Best advice I can give, but obviously you will come back with better. This is probably true with today's more accurately modeled 3rd paty aircraft, however I believe the default aircraft which this poster is probably using since he's new, had a problem which caused over stress damage too easilly. (Don't know if this got fixed in FS9.1 though, as I don't fly default much any more!). Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
September 13, 200520 yr Alright guys! Thank you very much! The problem has been fixed!! HHORAY ! :) :) :)
