January 1, 201610 yr In the FCOMv1 is stated the MTOW of 155.500 lbs for the B738 and 174.200 lbs for the B739. In real world the MTOW for the B738 is about 170.000 lbs and for the B739 187.000 lbs. Are the figures in the FCOMv1 incorrect?

January 1, 201610 yr Commercial Member Are the figures in the FCOMv1 incorrect? That came directly from Boeing, so...yes. What you're seeing is likely an 'approved' MTOW. You pay for various MTOW options based on your need. The operator will offer several that they've gotten approved from the administration. Kyle Rodgers
January 1, 201610 yr As Kyle says the figure in the FCOM is the basic MTOW. The higher figures you see published everywhere are the maximum certified weights. Operators can purchase higher weight options up to that maximum (the aircraft is the same however). However PMDG NGX operators can access the highest maximum takeoff weight without charge (for example the 737-800 allows an MTW (max taxi weight) of 79,200 Kg (174604 lb).
