January 5, 201610 yr So I caved in and ordered a boxed copy of the MD-11X from a reputable flight simulation retailer (*only had a few left! get yours today!). I'm planning on a full system refresh and bounce down to Windows 7 and FSX to make use of her, but I have a question as to the order of installation. Are there any known "order-of-installation" issues present with the legacy aircraft (MD-11 and/or 747) as it relates to the newer 737 and newer still 777? Or, should I be comfortable in installing the newer ones first while I wait for the delivery man to bring the MD-11 to my doorstep? Just curious if anyone had any feedback on the topic. Thanks, -Greg Germanowski

They're all self-aware (*chuckles*), so there won't be a conflict. The MD-11 uses an entirely different methodology compared to the newer stuff, anyway (PMDG Options in the drop down menus, under Add-Ons). Be forewarned, however, that advances in hardware are rendering some of the DLLs for our older products wholly incompatible (one of the reasons we stopped offering them). Kyle Rodgers

Kyle, could you elucidate a bit on that last sentence - what hardware has caused incompatibilities? Thanks, David Jones (DJ)
January 5, 201610 yr Commercial Member what hardware has caused incompatibilities? No idea - we never traced it down to specific components. The only thing I can narrow it down to, though, is "new." By new, I mean very recent, because this issue has been relatively recent in the support queue. Kyle Rodgers
