WIN10 and FLIGHT1 wrapper for DREAMFLEET ?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Had to reload my machine fully after problems with the Win10 update - yeah - I know - Win10 is not the vehicle of choice for FS9 but rolling back is not an option...

Anyway - the Flight1 wrappers for the Dreamfleet products don't work on Win10 - I have posted on the Flight1 forums and was acknowledged by Flight1... They said they would possibly look at it when they get a chance - I'm not holding my breath... Has anyone been able to install a Dreamfleet product on Win10 ???

Thanks...

Regards,
Scott

No, Scott, don't hold your breath!

I'm using Windows 7 and have the Dreamfleet/Flight1 Piper Archer III.  Since buying it Flight1 have released a newer version of their wrapper and I cannot now install the Archer because I bought it with an old wrapper.  When I asked them is they could do anything about this they said "No!"  I don't understand why that is but I just have to accept it as I'm damned if I'm going to buy it again from them.  In fact, I resolutely refuse to buy anything from them again.  This highlights my intense dislike of any method of purchase where I have to put my faith for continued future us with a third party.

Dijvid - have you tried downloading and using the new wrapper? Your original data should work just fine for a re-install. If you don't have that data you can get it from F1's support page.

Hi Dijvid,

Yeah - really very disappointing when the Flight1's security mechanism prevents you from using a product you've already purchased... While I've been pretty impressed with their customer service up to this point - I was pretty disappointed with their lackluster response - and it will be considered during any future purchase considerations...

I've corresponded with Lou Betti on another real flight related forum - maybe I'll try and ping him and see if I can entice him to place a little pressure on Flight1 ???

Scott

Been communicating with 'Jeff' from Flight1 on this same subject, he said he'd try to get the Wrapper updated for Win10 as I was looking into Ground Environment 2006. Hopefully he will, but I've moved on to FScene and BirdsEyeView and sticking with them. Especially since the texture settings in BEV have somehow shown up in the rest of the world, not just the US!
